Win reflects Reddy’s passion for his job

AFTER being named the country’s Junior Chef of the Year in 2013, Navneet Reddy was ready to work towards a higher accolade.

This year, the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort employee did just that, winning the Fiji Chef of the Year award during the annual Moffat Chefs Challenge.

He said his success was a reflection of his passion and dedication to cookery.

He believes successful cooking doesn’t rely on “know-how” but draws from the heart, and having a great love for food.

Mr Reddy also participated in the Global Chefs Challenge in New Zealand this year and returned home with a bronze medal.

“My personal tip to all competitors is that when we practise daily on our day to day operations and work hard towards guest satisfaction, with high hygiene standard met, then we don’t have to work hard finetuning all other aspects.

“I humbly thank my chefs and fellow colleagues who stood by me in every way to support me and my family for the moral support,” Mr Reddy said.
