IF there is any evidence that drugs is the cause of the brawls in Nabua, we will investigate it, says Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu.

He assured Fijians the Fiji Police Force would not leave any stone unturned to find the root cause of the rift between Mead Rd housing and Sukanaivalu Rd youths.

Mr Tudravu said the force was aware that some people were relating the incident to drugs.

“People are talking and talking, but when you talk to police, come with evidence,” he said.

“If you are saying drugs are involved, come forward, tell us, ‘this is the person, I saw him’.

“If the evidence is very good, we will do the investigations.

“Nobody has ever come forward and told our investigators ‘this guy is selling marijuana, I saw it with my own eyes’.

“These things have to come from members of the community.

“We are testing the relationship with the police and the community whether they are confident enough to come in.

“People are saying ‘drugs’, ‘police is involved’, ‘police is relaxing’.

“We are working but we need evidence.”
