Vodafone Premier League: Expect thrilling, exciting matches

AS the Fiji football calendar prepares for its first major tournament next month in the Courts Inter District Championship, the Vodafone Premier League season is also coming to end to conclude the competition for 2017/2018.

Football fans are urged to witness an epic competition between premier teams and a decider for which team that will be relegated next season and also a chance to follow up on their district teams towards the IDC next month.

Fiji FA media officer Avikash Chand said this would be the final week of the VPL and fans could expect thrilling and exciting matches.

Leading the points table is Lautoka with 23 points, Ba is in second place with 22 points, Nadi in third place with 21 points, and Suva in fourth place with 19 points; while the Babasiga Lions from Labasa is on sixth place with 18 points.

Meanwhile, the VPL matches on Saturday sees Tavua playing Labasa at Garvey Park at 3pm; and at the same time Ba faces Dreketi with the venue yet to be confirmed.

On Sunday, four matches will be played all starting at 3pm, Tavua takes on Dreketi at the Garvery Park, Lautoka hosts Rewa at the Churchill Park, and Nadi meets Suva at the Prince Charles Park while Ba battles Labasa with the venue yet to be confirmed.
