Uluinakau 7s: Ratu in top form for his Wadigi Salvos side

PLAYMAKER Napolioni Ratu was in top form as he helped his Wadigi Salvos side to secure a spot in the Uluinakau 7s quarter-final at Nadi’s Prince Charles Park yesterday.

The Fiji Airways Fijian 7s training squad member was lethal in attack cutting the defensive line open with big side steps and created spaces for his team- mates.

His breathtaking performance would be vital for the Lautoka-based side in its quest to win the top award.

Ratu’s talent will be best tested when his side faces other top teams that have secured their spot in the quarter finals.

These teams include tournament host Uluinakau, Red Diamond 3FIR, Vagadra and the unpredictable Ratu Filise outfit.

Meanwhile, Uluinakau is also on the right track to secure the top award after three convincing wins in the pool games.

The side defeated Dratabu 24-0, Mala Young Boys 24-5 and Nakorokula 28-0 to remain unbeaten in their pool games.

Ratu Filise with Ifereimi Tovilevu leading the pack will be another top contender for the top award.

The side won all it’s pool games and is expected to be at its best in the quarter finals.

Police also topped it’s pool securing a spot in the cup quarter final.

In the first semi-final Uluinakau to face Veilokani, Vagadra to battle against Yamacia in the second while Wadigi Salvos to face Red Diamond 3FIR and Ratu Filise facing Police in the third and fourth quarter finals, respectively.

A lot of people are expected to watch the finals at Prince Charles Park this afternoon.
