A TOTAL of 25 participants from Fiji and Papua New Guinea are part of a two week peace building training organised by Trascend  Oceania which began today.

While speaking at the opening of the training at the Pacific Theological College in Suva, lead facilitator Paulo Bale said peace cannot be achieved if there was still no justice within our regions.

He said the main aim of the training was to provide a forum in order to enhance peace-building initiatives within the region.

“We need to think of the root cause of the injustices that exist within our regions,” he said.

“We need to understand what these root causes are.”

The training will entail two course one for each week and will end on December 13.

Transcend OCEANIA is a Fiji based NGO with an aim to provide peace building initiatives in the region through it’s core strategy – the Oceania Peace-building Institute (OPI) .
