Taveuni farmer jailed for five years for stabbing man

A TAVEUNI farmer has been jailed for five years with a non-parole period of four years.
High Court judge Justice Riyaz Hamza deducted the time Jese Toma spent in custody resulting in a head sentence of four years and 10 months with a non-parole period of three years and 10 months.
In sentencing Toma, Justice Hamza said that he stabbed the complainant in the presence of his wife and children on October 20, 2018, at Delaivuna settlement, Taveuni.
