TWENTY-six Fiji Swimming coaches were part of the (Federation Internationale de Natanion) FINA Swimming Coaches Certification Program that ended today at the Damodar City Aquatic Centre in Suva.

The clinic was a three-day program that included classroom sessions and pool sessions for local coaches from various clubs in the country.

FINA tutor coach John Stathis said Fiji had experienced coaches who knew what they were doing.

“A lot of the coaches here are very proficient and have a lot of knowledge on what they are doing. It is a really good group to work with as we have younger coaches too that grasp this knowledge from the experienced coaches,” Stathis said.

“I can see that all these coaches want Fiji Swimming to improve and it is when we have that enthusiasm with the coaches, then things will go forward with Fiji Swimming.”
