FIJI Airways Flying Fijians captain Dominiko Waqaniburotu is happy with the set of players in the squad that is preparing for the Pacific Test Series, Pacific Nations Cup and the Rugby World Cup in Japan.

Waqaniburotu said the squad would prepare like any other team vying to win the Webb Ellis Cup. “For us, it’s to focus on one game at a time.”

“We got to be positive from now until our game against the Maori All blacks, the Pacific Nations Cup and the Rugby World Cup.

“There’s a lot of work to be done and we got to take one step at a time.”

As the team prepares to head down to Sigatoka to train, Waqaniburotu said the players were keen to be in camp after a week with their family taking a break from their clubs and getting ready for a showdown.

“Exciting times are ahead of us and the boys are excited coming together with high spirit catching up and everyone knows the objective of our campaign towards the world cup.

“We have talented players and for me, my focus is to get the boys together as we build up for our game against the Maori All Blacks.”

McKee has named a powerful Fiji Airways Flying Fijians wider training group to prepare for the Pacific Test Series incorporating the Maori All Blacks and Pacific Nations Cup prior to selecting his squad for the Rugby World Cup in Japan later this year.

A squad of 38 players is in camp for their first mission against the Maori All Blacks on the 13th of July at the ANZ Stadium before a return leg in Auckland on July 20.

Waqaniburotu took over the captancy from Akapusi Qera who was not named in the squad.
