RESIDENTS of the Chanel Home of Compassion were delighted to be visited by a team from Parliament to commemorate International Women’s Day last week.

The visit was led by acting secretary-general to Parliament Viniana Namosimalua.

She said it was decided that Parliament staff members did something different rather than just celebrate within the office.

“On behalf of the Speaker of Parliament and the staff, we wish to thank you for all that you have contributed to society,” she said.

“We pray that God will continue to strengthen you and the staff who look after you so that you can enjoy your stay in this institution.”

Clinical manager of the home Elenoa Gonelevu conveyed how the love of Christ was manifested towards the kind gesture showed through their visit to the home last week.

“We were all excited from the morning and the women wanted to wear scarf just to show you being here,” Mrs Gonelevu said.

Parliament staff members took time out to feed the senior citizens of the home with cake and juice and also spent some quality time with them.
