SAVE the Children Fiji is concerned with the leaking of information of children who are victims of sexual abuse.
Chief executive officer Iris Low-McKenzie while presenting their submission on the Registration of Sex Offenders Bill to the Standing Committee of Human Rights today said information as such should be protected.
She said children who report sexual abuse cases at times become victims of reporting because the information is leaked to the public.
“If we are going to have this register under the Police Commissioner we must ensure that this is properly implemented and at all times ensure that the identity of children are kept,” she said.
