THE Royal Suva Yacht Club committee was donated with a rescue boat called the Tia IIĀ with anĀ engine yesterday.

The equipment was handed over to the committee by Tia Punja on behalf of the Punja family.

Newly-appointed commodore Spencer Ah Sam acknowledged the Punja family for the generous support towards the club.

“We would like to thank the Punja family for donating this to us,” Mr Ah Sam said.

Ms Punja said this was the kind of celebrations they enjoyed at the Yatch Club to bring people together to come and enjoy themselves.

“This place is a big part of my childhood and a big part of my life now,” Ms Punja said.

“My family is really happy to donate the boat to your club, the yacht club is like family to us, and if you take care of your family, they will take care of you.”
