A resident in Valelevu, Nasinu is up in arms over the deplorable road conditions in front of his house.

Vinay Dutt, 21, said the potholes in front of his house at Naveiwakau Rd in Valelevu has become so bad that he was no longer worried about the welfare of his car but the safety of motorists and pedestrians.

“I am more worried about the vehicles that come through here as they have to swerve around the potholes, sometimes on to the oncoming lane and someday we might have an accident here,” he said.

Mr Dutt said the potholes had been there since Christmas last year and were getting worse day by day.

“I own two cars and I constantly have to fix my tyres and shock absorbers due to the damage sustained from driving on this road daily.”

Fiji Roads Authority acting (FRA) chief executive officer Kamal Prasad said the road had been programmed for repair works which would be carried out soon.
