PERMANENT Secretary for Local Government Joshua Wycliffe has clarified the delay in declaring Navua a town that was initiated three years ago.

This came after residents of Navua started questioning the delay in the process of declaring Navua a town.

Mr Wycliffe told this newspaper the cause of the delay was due to of a lot of processes that are yet to be carried out like improving infrastructure such as roads.

“The minister for local government in 2017 decided to go with the recommendation of the local government committee to declare Navua as a town but there are still pending work that needs to be completed,” he said.
