DEFENDING champion of the Waimanu Sevens tournament Police will be wary of other upcoming local teams as they fight to defend their title in the Waimanu Sevens tournament play-offs today.

Team manager Vakalevei Gaunavou said defending the title won’t be easy as there are better teams rising up in the competition.

“We are not underestimating any team because all the teams are well prepared and the strength of all the teams around Fiji are the same.

“It just depends on how we throw our card, if we throw our card well then we will expect to win the game,” said Gaunavou.

After competing at the Natakala Sevens last week the Police team had one week to prepare for the Waimanu Sevens.

“The boys prepared well last week for this tournament especially as defending champions, the pressure is on us to retain the title.

“We have finished with our pool games and the boys have performed well so we will continue to give a good game so we come out victorious at the end of the day,” said Gaunavou.
