NOT all causes of traffic congestion in the country are related to the operations of Fiji Roads Authority.

Authority chief executive officer Jonathan Moore made these comments while responding to the defence and national security ministry that traffic congestion could be a threat to national security in Fiji.

Ministry defence and national security manager corporative services Josefa Ratumaitavuki said if issue was not addressed it would cause chaos on our roads during an emergency.

In response, Mr Moore said they tried to minimise congestion within their work zones.

“Congestion has many causes not all are related to the operations of the FRA,” Mr Moore said.

FRA, he said tries to control the flow of traffic on daily basis.
