STUDENTS of Dr Ram Lakhan Memorial School will no longer have an excuse not to excel in class with the opening of a new classroom and a library with computers in Nadera today.

Officiating at the event, donor and former school executive Sashi Lakhan said the school went through a lot to deliver the best for the students.

“I’m very pleased that it is done now as there was a lot of delays as we have to go to the Nasinu Town Council and the Ministry of Education also changed their policy on how to fund these things, and finally we got it approved,” Mr Lakhan said.

He commended the stakeholders for their endless support because this project had been in the pipeline for the past 18 years.

School headteacher Babita Kumar shared similar sentiments saying she was hopeful the school would achieve great things in the future.

The two classrooms were made possible through an education grant from the government and donations from Mr Lakhan.

The school has a roll of 396 students and 12 teachers.
