New classrooms for students of Navakasiga

Sitting in old.classrooms will now be an issue of the past as students of Navakasiga District School were given their new $50,000 classrooms today.

The school in Bua has a roll of 100 students from the villages of Nasau, Naviqiri and Yaqaga maritime area.

Parent Samisoni Laukoto said their students used an old.classroom.

“We are happy with this gift because parents used to worry about their children sitting in an old room,” Mr Laukoto said.

“But now we are so happy and we thank Government for building the new room which is safer, brighter and better.”

In opening the classroom, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama told parents that we were living in tough times.

“We have prioritised the education of Fijians of all ages through the free education grant, free bus fares and free textbooks,” he said.
