NASINU Hurricanes beat Ba 58-0 to hoist the Vodafone U20 Vanua Cup at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.
The Ba U20 team was no match for the mighty Nasinu.
Majority of the Nasinu players were from the Fiji Rugby Academy at Lelean Memorial School in Nausori, which is run by former Flying Fijian Seremaia Bai.
LMS sprinter Netani Vakayalia scored four tries and claimed the best-player-of-the-match award.
Nasinu had the size and height. It led 24-0 in the first half.
Coach Seremaia Bai said hard work and sacrifice paid off for the players.
“It was not easy and the result showed the determination and perseverance from the boys,” Bai said.
“In Fiji there are no pathways for these young boys and I think a lot of schools only concentrating in terms of the Deans Trophy competition.
“We have to expose them, so more game time for them and we will see what we have in store.”
