THE Nadroga rugby side defeated Nadi 20-3 in the HFC Bank Farebrother Trophy Challenge this afternoon.

Nadi did not look like the holders from the beginning as the rush-up defense and counter-attacking rugby from the Stallions proved to be the difference.

Apisalome Waqatabu and Amenoni Nasilasila were brilliant at first-five and full-back respectively with the duo scoring all of Nadroga’s twenty points in the match.

Waqatabu scored the lone try of the first spell as NAdroga led 10-3 at half-time.

It was an entertaining first half with Nadi knocking the ball on at least twice close to Nadroga’s try line.

Nasilasila sealed the deal with a try with nine minutes remaining on the clock.

Nadroga will host Suva in the next challenge at Lawaqa Park next week.
