STUDENTS of Ratu Ravuama Vunivalu Memorial School in Mokani Village, Tailevu, were praised for their rugby and netball skills while playing in last week’s Tailevu South Netball Championship and the Kaji Rugby Festival.

Students from the school showed signs of success, especially for netball after winning their last three games.

Netball team coach Mereoni Mucunabitu said the students could become future champions.

“It is a wonderful opportunity for our girls and it was nice to be able to expose their talents,” Mucunabitu said.

She said their school netball team usually played in their village competitions.

“Through this competition (last week) they played in a new environment and competed against other schools, which improved their netball skills.

“We started with basic training and we did not have much time to learn how to play. Despite their lack of experience, they did not limit their expectations.”
