Modi congratulates Bainimarama on re-election

INDIA and Fiji share important values that support the countries’ strong bilateral relationship.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this in his congratulatory note of the re-election of his Fijian counterpart, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama as Fijian Prime Minister throughout the next four-year term of government.

Mr Modi said India and Fiji enjoy traditionally warm and cordial relations based on mutual respect, goodwill and understanding.

“On behalf of the Government and the people of India and on my own personal behalf, I extend warm greetings and congratulations on Your Excellency’s re-election as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Fiji. I also convey my best wishes for continued progress and prosperity of the people of the Republic of Fiji under your able leadership,” Mr Modi said.

“We have excellent cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral fora for our shared objectives. I am confident that our strong relationship will continue to grow under your leadership.”
