FOR Miriama Turaganivalu, selling plants was a means to financially support her family.
Mrs Turaganivalu was selling pot plants and was one of the many people selling at today’s ROC market at Loftus Street in Suva today.
She said her mother-in-law Luisa Bryson taught her how to manage and look after plants in order for them to grow.
“I had started learning about this from last year from my mother in law, on the different types of soil, how to manage the plant , which plants are meant for indoor and which plants are meant for the outdoors,” she said.
She said what pushed her to keep at this was her family.
“My husband is the only breadwinner in the family and we have four sons so for me this is a way for me to help us financially,” she said.
“We sell local plants here, all local plants and the cactus plants.”
