Members of the public attend Suva budget consultation

NOT more than 100 members of the public attended the 2019 -2020 national budget consultation at De Vos on the Park in Suva this morning.
The Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum who facilitated the consultation in his capacity as economy minister arrived an hour after the scheduled time at 9.30am.
The consultation was attended by Government MP Vijay Nath, Fiji Revenue and Customs Service chief executive office Visvanath Das including senior officials of the Ministry of Economy.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum reminded people present at the consultation to make submissions on the budget before April 26.
He said the budget would be delivered on June 7.
He said there has been an economic growth over the past nine years in Fiji and that the unemployment rate was 4.5 per cent.
