FLYING Fijians head coach John McKee will have his hands full in the next few days with a few hard decisions to make in selecting his run on side for next week’s Test against the New Zealand Maori.

“We have got a very strong squad here with a lot of our players going head to head in trying to get selected for that game,” said McKee.

“The players know that it is how you train every day that will give you the best chance of putting your hand up for selection.”

McKee said it’s not their on field performance that will be monitored but also monitoring the discipline around their nutrition, rest and recovery.

“It’s all the other things that go together not just what happens on the park but what happens throughout the whole day,” McKee said.

After a full week of training at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka the Flying Fijians capped off their week with an intensive session at the Sigatoka Sand Dunes yesterday morning at the crack of dawn.

Skipper Dominiko Waqaniburotu led by example from the front as they faced the rough and tough terrains where the national sevens team trained before they went on to win gold at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

The team broke camp for the weekend with players to spend time with their families before marching in again on Monday.
