SOLOSOLO Primary School, under the adopt-a-school program at the Pacific Games have been given the opportunity to support Fiji at the Samoa Pacific Games.
The school of 363 students entertained the crowd at the flag raising ceremony held at Mulinu’u yesterday.
School principal Amituanai Leota said the school was excited after being selected by the schools administration in Samoa to support Fiji.
“After our school was chosen we were so excited because these students know about Fiji so we couldn’t wait to be able to showcase what we know about Fiji.
“I have lived in Fiji for three years so it has a special place in my heart and that is what I have taught by students,” said Leota.
The school began their presentation with a Fijian war cry, a meke and sang the Fijian national anthem.
“We hope the Team Fiji athletes enjoyed our presentation here and know that we are here supporting them all the way.
“We wish them all the best and hope they get gold medals.
“We will be cheering them on while they are here to support them,” said Leota.
Twenty-two local schools in Samoa came out in support of the different countries who will be taking part at the Samoa Pacific Games.
