TRIPLE N Zone giants Adi Cakobau School and Lelean Memorial School both retained their titles at the end of competition yesterday at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

Adi Cakobau School (ACS) scooped 38 gold, 31 silver and 20 bronze medals to win in the girls division. Lelean Memorial School grabbed 23 gold, 19 silver and 10 bronze medals in the boys competition.

ACS head coach Antonio Raboiliku said despite the hardships they faced the girls were able to give their best during the event.

“We faced a few difficulties preparing for the zone competition as our ground was not in good condition for us to train in.

“We also just had one of our dormitories burnt but that has not deterred us from trying and giving our best here,” said Raboiliku after the competition.

The Sawani girls will be gunning to keep the consistency as they prepare for the Fiji Secondary Schools Finals.

“As you know we are defending champion and we will be keeping our trust in the Lord to do well.

“Rivalry is not an issue for us at ACS, we are there to compete and will try and collect as many gold medals as we can,” said Raboiliku.

About 934 athletes from 17 schools were part of the Triple N Zone meet which was held at the ANZ Stadium in Laucala Bay, Suva yesterday.
