FIJI has started its campaign of the HSBC Las Vegas 7s title with a 36-12 victory over Scotland at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.

Waisea Nacuqu scored a double in the first half while the third try came from Vilimoni Botitu.

Nacuqu missed two conversions but was successful with one to give Fiji a 17-7 lead at half time.

Scotland’s try was scored by Mac McFarland.

Terio Tamani came in for Nacuqu in the second half and scored within seconds of the half.

He converted his own try.

Fiji was left with six men after Botitu copped a yellow card. Scotland capitalised and scored their second try.

Back from sin bin, Botitu scored for Fiji following a pass from Aminiasi Tuimaba.

Tamani finished the game with another try of his own.

Fiji won back-to-back cup titles in Las Vegas in 2015 and 2016.

But last year was first time since 2014 that Fiji had not made the cup final in Las Vegas.
