Justice Dayaratne sworn in as new judge in Fiji

JUSTICE Dayaratne was yesterday sworn-in as a new judge for the Fiji Court of Appeal.

Justice Dayaratne who has attended and presented at many international law conferences and seminars took an oath before the President, Jioji Konrote, and senior members of the Fijian Judiciary.

He comes with vast experience having gained his first qualification from the Sri Lanka Law College in 1989-1992 and went on to complete his Masters of Law in International Trade Law in 2008.

Justice Dayaratne served as a lecturer in the Law of Contracts, University of London, Bachelor of Laws Degree Course conducted by the Informatics Institute of Technology, Colombo 4, Sri Lanka, 2005-2009.

He spent a significant part of his career at the Sri Lankan Attorney General’s Department and has also served on special international assignments.
