“ON our way to justice, we shall not be moved”.

This chant echoed through Suva city this evening as activists and members of the public marched in a peaceful protest with their placards to mark International Women’s Day.

The Reclaim the Night march started from Flea Market and ended in front of the Parliament complex.

Fiji Women Crisis Centre coordinator Shamima Ali said it was time that people woke up and start raising their voices on violence against women.

“We have to start strong activism on challenges faced by women in this country,” Ms Ali said.

“The attack on women has started so we have to work together and strongly raise our voices.”

Activist Roshika Deo reminded women to stand up and fight for their rights.
