An update on the state of the construction industry in Fiji will be provided to stakeholders at its third annual conference scheduled to be held next month.
The Construction Industry Council’s (CIC) annual conference will be held at the Warwick Fiji on September 9, 10 and 11. CIC president Gordon Jenkins said there were many unanswered questions on the state of the industry and they were confident that the lineup of speakers would address many of their concerns.
“In addition to an update of the industry we also see this as an opportunity for all those directly and indirectly associated with the industry to share experiences over the last two years, to reaffirm our commitment to building a strong construction industry,” said Mr Jenkins
“The interest has been gratifying and the number of delegates already committed to the conference is inspiring.”
He thanked the Warwick for their support and said a supportive venue was a major part of a successful conference and the Warwick could not be more helpful.
Mr Jenkins said the challenges ahead were reflected in the range of topics, which included addressing the nation’s economy, an outdated building code, supply chain challenges, rebuilding the workforce; bamboo materials as an alternative to timber, climate, and keeping competition healthy.
The conference will feature a 19-booth trade show with both local and international exhibitors.
