High Court: No delayed trial because accused keeps changing lawyer
20 February, 2019, 8:02 pm
JUDGE Justice Thushara Rajasinghe told lawyers in an aggravated robbery case that the trial would not be delayed just because the accused keeps changing his lawyer.
Emosi Baleidrokadroka and Lote Wesele are charged with one count of aggravated robbery and it is alleged they robbed a person of cash and a mobile phone all to the total value of $119, on March 11, 2018, in Nasinu.
Defence lawyer Lavenia David informed the court that Mr Baleidrokadroka was earlier represented by the Legal Aid, however, later withdrew.
Mr Baleidrokadroka again sought Legal Aid assistance before the court today.
Mr Wesele had his bail extended while Mr Baleidrokadroka has been remanded.
The case has been adjourned to March 7.
