Group to perform Ram Leela

A RENOWNED musical dance drama group from India is in the country to perform “Ram Leela” around the country.
The Indian High Commission in Fiji has organised the program in conjunction with the Indian Centre for Cultural Relations.
The Shriram Bhartiya Kala Kendra group will present its 61st endearing edition of “Ram Leela”.
The play is based on the Hindu holy book, the Ramayana.
The show will showcase a magnificent tapestry of costumes, lighting, choreography and music.
The high commission’s second secretary Hindi, Anil Sharma, said “Ram Leela” was very popular in Fiji and this was the reason they had brought this renowned group to the country.
He urged the public to attend and enjoy the show which is free.
The event will start at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva at 5.30pm today.
The group will also perform at the Bulileka Shree Sanatan Dharam Ram Leela Mandir in Labasa on March 16 at 7pm, followed by a performance at AD Patel College in Ba on March 17 at 7pm.
The final performance will be held at Lautoka’s Girmit Centre on March 19 at 6.30pm.
