NAITASIRI lad Tomu Gaunavou is ready to take on Abhay Chand in the super middleweight title fight in Nadi today.

The Nawaqabena lad said he was ready to take on Chand today.

“I have been in boxing for the past 10 years, five years in amateur and five in professional and to be honest it’s not that easy,” he said.

“I never underestimate anyone, I am always open to any critics and challenge knowing that this will help me grow.

“I’ve prepared well and I know that it will be a tough fight but I am ready to take on my opponent.”

The 30-year-old dedicated his life to his family for the support they have given him and thanked the sport for teaching him to be disciplined.

“I am thankful to my coaches for helping me and guiding me through despite the bad decisions I have already made, despite the circumstance I’ve faced they still managed to be by my side.

“In this sport in order for you to win you will need all the support from your families and your fans to take you through and I am grateful to God for giving me this opportunity to prove myself.”

The program will be held at Prince Charles Park this afternoon.
