Four police officers charged for serious crimes in February

FOUR police officers were charged for non-sexual violence offences last month.

This was revealed today by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) when releasing the serious crime statistics recorded in February 1 to February 28, 2019.

The statistics revealed that two police officers were charged with the murder of a 21-year-old man at Totogo Police Station while two other police officers were charged with act with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and abuse of office.

Meanwhile a total of 61 people were charged for non-sexual violence with a total of 152 counts of separate incidents.

Of the 61 accused persons, five were juveniles.

There were 44 victims of the 152 counts of separate incidents and there were six incidents where the accused and victims were related to one another.
