THE Fiji Police Force can only do so much in addressing the drug problem in Fiji.

This was the message by deputy secretary for Defence and National Security Lt-Col Ilai Moceica while officiating at the opening of the Narcotics workshop held at the Tanoa Plaza Hotel in Suva today.

He said stakeholders needed to holitically view this as a national problem.

“This forum is rightfully mandated to come up with strategic solutions that would not only allow enforcement agencies to curb the illicit use of drugs and eradicating cultivators but to commit our resources and time to this worthy cause,” Mr Moceica said.

He said life was a precious commodity and as government officials, they were entrusted to protect –  a responsibility that should not be taken lightly.
