A 20-YEAR-OLD man was today sentenced to five years imprisonment at the High Court in Suva for stealing from his employer more than $3000 last year.
The Court heard that Timoci Tikina had pleaded guilty to the charge of aggravated robbery.
While handing down sentence, Justice Daniel Goundar told the man that he had breached the trust of his employer and threatened the victim with death.
The purpose of the sentence is to denounce your conduct, protect the community and deter you and others from engaging in this kind of anti-social behaviour,” Justice Goundar said.
He declined to fix a non-parole period.
