THE Fiji Junior Tribe under-15 team will play Nauru Stars in the grand final of the 2018 Youth under-15 AFL Oceania Cup at Albert Park in Suva today.
After three wins from their campaign the Fijian side is one game away from defending its title.
The side began its title defence with a win against the Vanuatu Volcanos 44-15 in their first match on Monday.
“A great start to what should be a great week of AFL,” said AFL development co-ordinator Matelita Tuilevuka.
“They have begun well picking up from yesterday’s (Monday) cup win. “Vanuatu gave Fiji a good run, but they stuck to their game plan for the win.”
The Oceania Cup which is played annually sees four teams from the Oceania region including Vanuatu and Nauru go head to head for the title of AFL Oceania Cup Champion.
“This competition will see the best players that Oceania AFL has to offer.
“The selected players from all four teams competing will go to the South Pacific Talent Camp.”
A total of 25 players are expected to be selected in the South Pacific Talent camp and match program which takes place next year in Lismore, New South Wales, Australia.
