Fijian Government will need US$4.5bn to ensure resilience over 10 years

GOVERNMENT will need $US4.5billion worth of resources, technology and expertise to ensure its climate change resilience over the next 10 years.

This was revealed by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama at the second day of the 5th Pacific Urban Forum in Nadi.

“Climate adaptation is engrained throughout every aspect of the NDP (National Development Plan) and we’ve also undertaken a comprehensive climate vulnerability assessment across our economy that has placed a US$4.5billion-dollar value on the resources, technology and expertise we need to adapt the Fijian economy over ten years,” he said.
