Fiji PM commends defence forces

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has thanked the Australian Defence Force, New Zealand Defence Force, French Defence Force and the Fiji Military Forces for completing the construction of the $500,000 six-classroom block at Lekutu Secondary School in Bua on Vanua Levu.

In officially opening the new building, Mr Bainimarama told parents that Government was not only satisfied with providing free,  compulsory education for every child but that every child would access equally high standard of learning.

“This facility will cater for children in 13 communities of Lekutu district and Government through scholarship awards will enable students with financial difficulties to further and complete tertiary education  studies.”

School manager Orisi Baleinamau said the students were blessed to have such a new facility.

“It will certainly help students with their learning ability as they are provided with better surrounding,” Mr Baleinamau said.
