MEMBERS of the Fiji Crop and Livestock Council (FCLC) have raised their concerns on the challenges faced when applying for commercial loans.

At a recent workshop held by the council, representatives at the event highlighted the difficulties they faced when complying with the policies set by the Fiji Development Bank.

Members also raised other issues which were a challenge for farmers when applying for loans and other assistance.

The council informed members that a regular review, assessment and monitoring of the overall performance of farmers and farmers’ organisations was imperative for future sustainable development and growth of the non-sugar agriculture sector in Fiji.
