Farmer on murder charge remanded

A 34-YEAR-OLD farmer who allegedly murdered his wife at Walu Bay has been remanded by the High Court in Suva.
Luke Nasetava appeared before judge Justice Salesi Temo today charged with one count of murder.
It is alleged that Nasetava stabbed his wife Amelia Mafi at her Walu Bay workplace resulting in her death.
State lawyer Saif Shah informed the court that they had filed information and disclosures to the defence.
Defence lawyer Filimoni Vosarogo told the court that he would advise his client on the evidence before they could confirm their stance on a plea.
Mr Vosarogo also advised that they had filed their application for bail.
The matter now will be called on November 25 for a plea.
