SAINT Joseph’s Secondary School’s longest serving principal Sister Genevieve Loo was described as a faithful servant of God.

While speaking at Sister Loo’s funeral mass at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Suva, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Suva Peter Loy Chong said apart from being an educator, she was an advocate for women’s empowerment and one who dedicated her life in service for the church.

“She leaves behind a legacy as a teacher and a principal of St Joseph’s Secondary School,” Archbishop Loy Chong said.

He said Sister Loo lived a life out of service for the people and the church. Sister Loo’s younger sister, Anastasia Seeto, described the late principal as the apple of her father’s eye, who was sometimes quite stubborn, but very hardworking.

“She could never do anything wrong in my father’s eyes and I on the other hand was the mischievous one,” she said.

Sister Loo was laid to rest at the Suva Cemetery.
