CHRISTMAS came early for more than 100 underprivileged children after the JP Bayly Trust treated them to a fun day at their head office in Lautoka yesterday.
These children are mostly from families who have been assisted by the trust for the past 31 years.
Trust manager western Sarojani Michael said the event also allowed them to reward children who excelled academically in their schools.
“We also gave two special awards to the best mother and the best grandmother; they were the two who have always been supporting their children and they always turn up when we needed them,” Mrs Michael said.
“Every year, we celebrate together with these children and this is a way of rewarding them for their hard work throughout the year.
“Most of these kids are from Lomolomo right up to Tuvu and they are here today (yesterday) with their mothers and guardians.”
The Bayly welfare and education has been assisting most underprivileged children in the greater Lautoka area for the past 31 years.
