BEST friends Maikeli Radua Jr and Jeremiah Turaganivalu, both 10, are confident of winning their events in the FMF Chow Games to be held on November 16-17.

They attend Veiuto Primary School and are part of the Suva team to defend the boys’ title in the games.

Radua will compete in the long jump, shot put events and 4×100 metres relay.

“This is my second year of participation,” Radua said.

“Everything at the moment seems calm and I’m going to keep it that way looking forward to the competition.”

Turaganivalu, on the other hand, wants to become a top sprinter in future.

He will compete in the 50 metres and 75m sprints and the 4x100m relay. “This is my first time to participate in athletics and it’s a big thing for me, especially competing against the other districts,” Turaganivalu said.

“I always like to see Banuve Tabakaucoro compete and I will train hard and do my best to be like him one day.”

Meanwhile, the 2018 FMF Chow Games will be held at the ANZ Stadium in Suva. |
