DRAINAGE works outside of sugarcane belt areas in the country are continuing, says Minister for Waterways Dr Mahendra Reddy.
He said a lot of drainage work was happening in the Central Division, particularly in villages and settlements.
“We have our drainage schemes and irrigation scheme in Navua so the work is being undertaken,” he said.
“Similarly in the North, outside the sugarcane belt areas, we also have work being done. We have dredging work being undertaken in the Rewa River.
“We have also recently commissioned the Lautoka sea wall project at Namoli and we’re looking at commissioning over $1million work in Lamini Village in a few weeks.”
