All Iftar programs in Mosques/ Marakiz are being deferred for a few days with immediate effect.

The Fiji Muslim League highlighted this on its official Facebook page saying this is due to the recent announcement of new COVID case in one of the staff at the quarantine facility by the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

According to the post the League has been advised by the Permanent Secretary of Health and Medical Services Dr James Fong to defer the Iftar programs.

However regular prayers and Taraweeh will continue under strict social distancing conditions with individuals using prayer mats/musallah.

Imams are requested to ensure this is adhered strictly.

This will be reviewed after few days in consultation with the relevant government authorities.

The League is urging it’s follower to take extra precautions and act on these guidelines for the betterment of our nation.
