Court remands man charged with robbery at City Forex Exchange

A MAN charged with one count of aggravated robbery appeared at the Suva Magistrates Court this afternoon.
It is alleged Meli Dogotau Tamani robbed $50,253.10 in local Fijian currency and foreign currency valued at $18,585.30, the property of City Forex Exchange on February 14, 2019, in Suva.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Josua Shaw served full phase disclosures and informed the court that Mr Tamani had pending cases before other courts.
Magistrate Waleen George said Mr Tamani has a pending matter before her for which he was on bail.
She has transferred the matter to the High Court in Suva and has remanded Mr Tamani.
The case has been adjourned to March 5.
