Christchurch mosque shooting: Risk environment remains high

NEW Zealand Police says they are responding with its full capability to manage the situation in Christchurch at the height of the open fire inside the mosque but adds the risk environment remains extremely high.

And they have recommended that residents across Christchurch remain of the streets and indoors until further notice.

As the situation evolves, Christchurch schools have also been locked down until further notice.

New Zealand Police said one person is in custody but they believe there may be other offenders.

“This is an evolving incident and Police is working to confirm the facts, however, have confirmed that there have been a number of fatalities. Police are currently at a number of scenes,” NZ Police said.
