LIFELINE Fiji held its inaugural Charity Gala Event last night at the Grand Pacific Hotel (GPH) in Suva.

The event was made more memorable with the presence of former New Zealand Sevens Team Captain DJ Forbes being the chief guest and ambassador for the function.

Lifeline Fiji officer in charge Jeremaia Qalobulailakeba said all profits from the ticket sales and the auction would go to the work of Lifeline Fiji.

“This will be used to enhance our outreach of Lifeline Fiji to many people calling for help,” Mr Qalobulailakeba said.

He said plans were being held to have another event next year.

Meanwhile, Mr Forbes said he was honoured to be present and be part of a worthy cause.

Auction prizes included travel, accommodation, dining and sports memorabilia, including All Blacks jersey signed and donated by Richie McCaw and other memorabilia from Eric Rush and Sir Michael Jones.
