Chand wins Mr Fiji title

NILESH Chand has been crowned Mr Fiji ahead of his opponents Simon Shankar, Saimoni Leuta and Sefanaia Cakautini.
The 42-year-old said it wasn’t an easy journey for him as he dedicates his win to his family.
“Super proud and dedicating my win to my Lord and saviour Jesus my family and all my friends my social media followers and my coach based in California Fakri Mubaraq,” he said.
“It’s not easy but it is possible if you really are dedicated and consistent you can achieve anything in any sport keep heads high dream higher work harder stay humble and keep winning.”
Chand won two medals at the Waikato Bodybuilding Championship in New Zealand in October. Gold medal in the Masters bodybuilding which is for those who are over 40 years and a silver medal in the under 80kg open class.
“After one week of competing in New Zealand, then back in Fiji I had been preparing for past 18 weeks plus waited for Fiji show and ended up dieting and training for 25 weeks and never missed a meal or session and had been hitting weights and cardio seven days all out and finally awarded with a super clean sweep out winning Mr Fiji 2019 and another gold medal in the 89kg.”
Now with the season over he will be spending some time with his family before he hits the gym to prepare for another event.
